Quick comments and a meme

So I'm probably behind on school work. Procrastination is a good quality demon sometimes. Something tells me that my old tendancy to get addicted to computer games is not necessarily to my advantage. Oh well.

Oh and:

1. Reply with your name and I will write something about you.
2. I will then tell what song[s] remind me of you.
3. Next, I will tell you who you remind me of, celebrity/animated or otherwise.
4. Last, I will try to name a single word that best describes you.
5. Put this in your journal.

A tiny update of sorts.

So things are going pretty darn well. Some stress has dissipated for many reasons (like my actually getting caught up on the small homework assignments, and Kim finding a web panel that I'm truly enjoying among other things).

Also: I need to stop dehydrating myself.

But whatever. Here's an interesting quiz result:

So I haven't typed anything personal in my LJ for a while…

So I haven't been typing much in my LJ as of late as for personal stuff.

And realistically, yes I've been busy, but that's not a fair excuse. Sure I've also been mildly stressed, but that's situational, and dissipates fairly easily, given the nature of the beast.

I went to the meetup today… but only one person else had shown up. Kind of odd, but I had only planned to show up for a few minutes… so it wasn't entirely annoying.

To show how bizarre things are as of late: I actually forgot to do some homework-esque things unintentionally. But they weren't actually technically due, so it wasn't an issue. *phew!*

But I'm starting to really appreciate my social life. Sure I need more of it at times, but right now, with me doing something out of the ordinary about once-ish a week, it feels like a good mental break.

Oh, and I now own a couple new writing books: a Harry Potter one and a Shakespeare one. Gotta love the bookstore in HUB for decent deals! 🙂

Also here's an interesting little thing:

You Are 29 Years Old

Under 12: You are a kid at heart. You still have an optimistic life view – and you look at the world with awe.

13-19: You are a teenager at heart. You question authority and are still trying to find your place in this world.

20-29: You are a twentysomething at heart. You feel excited about what's to come… love, work, and new experiences.

30-39: You are a thirtysomething at heart. You've had a taste of success and true love, but you want more!

40+: You are a mature adult. You've been through most of the ups and downs of life already. Now you get to sit back and relax.

My first day back at school… and I'm rather excited! :)

So today was my first day back. Feels weird to be back in a large classroom again (for Sociology). I know people in ALL my classes (yay!) which is super neat (and unexpected). Double yay for knowing people from high school, and other classes.

So my classes should be interesting: continuations of C Lit 100 and of WRITE 298, and my three new courses: my Ibsen class, my pop culture C lit class and my media sociology class! Totally loving it when my prof orders us to buy magazines, watch tv and see lots of movies AS HOMEWORK!

Downside to not having breaks: I gotta be a bit more prepared about preparing lunches to munch on.

Also what's with the lack of extending bookstore hours?

I bought some books online, so that takes care of a few, and I still gotta get some from the bookstore also. My grand total should be around $200 total for all 3 of the new classes. Not bad comparatively speaking (would be slightly less if books were more available online).

Anywho… I think all is going to be great this term with such excellent classes. The coursework shouldn't be too bad either! 🙂

Something tells me that I travelled a fair bit during this time period (especially to the USA). My musings certainly seem to indicate this.

I'm not invincible… never have been… this is nothing new… *sighs*

So as per the usual, life decides to continue to be difficult in its own special ways.

I'm not a huge fan of having to essentially LOSE money because people decide (and they seemingly do this often) that rescheduling an event is perfectly the right thing to do. It's not that I didn't ask to confirm the first date…. So I guess I'll just have to cope with the likelihood of making less money in future weeks as a result of such rescheduling. NOT fun… especially given all the time I ALREADY take off from work. It's not as if I'm above the hypothetical poverty line or anything… *grrr!*

Rumors fly. And if it were back in the late 1990s… I'd be building a shell to cope. Not this time. No. This time, their lack of truth will have to be enough to allow me to, you know, get by, succeed, indeed build a new future for myself… and 'with the help of my friends' enjoy each passing moment… because it's not worth getting all worked up over. Facts are facts. Untruths are untruths. And I'm not about to go breaking rules, or digging myself some sort of grave to lie in at any point in the near future without some better reason than those proffered.

Not that it ain't hard.

Life's hard.

And 'I will survive' (as Gloria Gaynor's song would put it… aren't I just SO on a song lyric kick? 😉 ).

School technically starts tomorrow. My classes start tuesday. Getting up early regularly starts tomorrow (or rather today if I look at the clock… yikes!).

Life's peachy keen… needs more hugs though. Always does sometimes. (gotta love specifics like that! 😉 )

School's almost here again…

So my homework still needs to get done. I need to return to a normalesque sleeping waking schedule. And oh! I did actually post a blog entry on a blog that I read regularly. You can find it (it's on donations) here.

Life can get rather stressful at times. But it's feeling GREAT to clean. More than great really. And awesome to see people, but not too many people and not the stress of actually being in class yet.

Now I just gotta remember to print out my class schedule on Monday, not to mention, read Don Quiote and write a page for another course.

Sore shoulders…

So apparently working (at work at 15% Tuesday), buying too many groceries to carry home, cleaning the fridge (and doing dishes etc.), shivering, sleeping weirdly and whatnot combine to make for an uncomfortable set of shoulders. ugh. Oh well.
